About AU Chemist

AU Chemist is a B2C pharmacy broker for people in Australia. We help you find medicines, compare options and understand what you are ordering.

The same medicine can carry one brand name on an Australian pharmacy shelf and another on an Indian generic, come in strengths you have not seen before, and cost very different amounts. AU Chemist brings medicine information, brand and generic comparisons, and ordering through licensed pharmacy partners into one place.

Why AU Chemist exists

Medicine access is not equal everywhere.

Capital cities have large pharmacies and specialist clinics. Regional towns and remote communities often have fewer choices, and anyone can run into unfamiliar brand names, unclear generics or a pharmacy that does not stock the medicine they were looking for.

AU Chemist is designed to make that situation easier to navigate.

Our goal is simple: help you identify the medicine, understand the active ingredient, compare branded generics and generics, and order with delivery to your door.

What AU Chemist does

AU Chemist helps you:

  • search medicines by name, ingredient, condition or category
  • find the branded generic or generic of a medicine you know by its original brand name
  • check strengths, pack sizes and prices where available
  • understand when the same medicine has different names in different countries
  • read medicine, ingredient and condition pages written for non-specialists
  • continue to ordering and delivery options through pharmacy partners

The full ordering process is explained on How Ordering Works.

How ordering works

AU Chemist provides the website, catalogue and ordering experience. We do not manufacture, prescribe, dispense or ship medicines.

After you choose a medicine, strength and pack size, review the delivery totals in your cart and the available payment options at checkout. Delivery insurance and discreet packaging are included, with no separate charge for either. BTC and ETH payments receive an extra 10% discount; the checkout shows the discounts applied to your order.

Shipping, payment and fulfilment terms are explained on How Ordering Works.

No prescription is required: we place your order with our pharmacy partners and arrange delivery on your behalf. Dispensing and delivery are handled by those partners. Depending on the medicine and destination, extra steps may apply, such as identity details or local import requirements.

Not every medicine can be supplied to every country. Availability depends on the product, destination, local rules, courier routes and pharmacy fulfilment checks.

Why brands and generics matter

Medicine names change across borders.

A brand you know from an Australian pharmacy may not be the name on an Indian branded generic, and a medicine you used overseas may be sold here under another name. In many cases, the active ingredient is the best way to compare medicines correctly.

AU Chemist focuses on:

  • the active ingredient
  • known brand names
  • generic alternatives
  • manufacturer details where available
  • strength and dosage form
  • pack size and price differences
  • practical notes that help you compare options

Generic medicines are often lower-cost alternatives to original brands, but they still need to be compared carefully. Manufacturer, registration status, strength, inactive ingredients and supply route can all matter. We supply branded generics and generics only. Where a product is listed under an original brand name, that name identifies the medicine; each product’s What you will receive section says what is supplied.

Who AU Chemist is for

AU Chemist is useful for people across Australia, in the cities and well beyond them.

That includes:

  • people in regional and remote areas without a well-stocked pharmacy nearby
  • people on regular treatment who want to compare pack sizes and prices
  • people comparing an Australian brand with its generic equivalents
  • people who moved to Australia and know a medicine by an overseas brand name
  • customers trying to understand generic alternatives before ordering

We avoid assuming that one country’s medicine system works like another’s. Rules, availability and brand names are local.

How we handle information

Medicine information should be useful, sourced and clear.

Our medicine pages and guides are built around active ingredients, recognised sources, manufacturer information, regulator references and practical comparison. Where a claim depends on country rules or current availability, we try to make that clear instead of pretending the answer is universal.

You can read more on How We Research.

What AU Chemist is not

AU Chemist does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or decide which medicine is right for you.

Our guides are general information. They are meant to help you understand options and ask better questions, not replace a doctor or pharmacist. This is especially important if you are pregnant, have a chronic condition, take other medicines, have allergies, are ordering for a child, or are unsure about dosage or suitability.

Contact and corrections

Medicine information changes. Brand availability, prices, regulator pages, pharmacy requirements and delivery routes can all move over time.

If you find something unclear, outdated or incorrect, tell us through the Contacts page. We review correction reports and update pages where needed.
